Jordan

Jordan Giordano is a first-year medical school student from northern New Jersey. He studied physics and biochemistry at the U.S. Naval Academy but then was introduced to medicine at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. These experiences inspired him to pursue a career in medicine, so he transferred to SUNY Albany to study human biology. Today, he is attending medical school through the U.S. Army Health Professions Scholarship Program. He is currently a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserves and will become an active-duty member of the U.S. Army Medical Corps upon graduation. Jordan’s desire to serve as a military physician was inspired by his late father’s courageous service as a New York City firefighter on September 11, 2001. During his first year in the Bronx, Jordan starts a running club for local athletes with disabilities, delves deeper into human anatomy through dissection labs, and begins military officer training.
